“U&I Ice creams” is a brand promoted by the well-known “Universal Group of Companies”. The “Universal” group was founded by a much decorated ex-IAF pilot Jaswantsingh, who has seen action in the WW-II and the 1965 & 1971 Indo-China/Indo-Pak Wars. After retirement, Col Jaswantsingh set up a water-proofing materials trading firm and later ventured into manufacturing a host of water-proofing materials and compounds. His other forays included HDPE woven sacks, Road and Bridges Construction. Today, at the age of 95, he has handed over the reins to his equally capable son Mr. Ravisingh, who has not only expanded the businesses founded by his father but added to them. He has diversified into pavement-block manufacturing, cement-tile manufacturing, manufacturing and application of specialty water-proofing materials used in the Nuclear power ventures etc.

U&I Ice creams is the joint effort of Mr. Ravi and Mr. Vilas Kowjalgi - the business acumen of Mr. Ravi and the technical expertise of Mr. Vilas.

Mr. Ravi is a graduate in Commerce with a degree in Law and has been a successful entrepreneur since the last 30+ years. Mr. Vilas has a Master’s in Dairy Science with hands-on experience in Dairy Processing, Project Planning and Management. He has worked with pioneers like Joy Ice-creams, Cadbury’s, Indiana Dairy Specialties, etc. He has worked extensively in India and abroad in the areas of Production, Project Management, New Product Development etc.

Universal Icecreams has its office in Cama Industrial Estate, Goregaon (East) and the factory at Ghoshalwadi, near Panvel, 80 km from Mumbai in Maharashtra.
